Cancer Treatment Around the World

Parmita

Cancer treatment has reached extreme heights in the past decades, from being one of the causes of deaths in the world, to having a large number of survivors battling this fatal disease, cancer treatment has improved and spread like medicinal fire all around the globe.

One of the most prominent and upcoming treatment organisations is the Global Cancer Treatment which has been an initiative taken by the American Cancer Society.

They work on improving the lives of cancer patients and their families through any and all means of accommodations.

Their goal is to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to prevent, detect and treat cancer. Alliances with multiple cancer institutes across the world has led to their engagement in providing affordable medical supplies for treatment centres across Sub Saharan Africa.

ChemoSafe, African Cancer Coalition and Treat The Pain are some other initiatives taken by them to ensure safe, affordable and equipped resources for the cancer family.

With many colleges and medical science institutes having their complete and undivided focus on cancer and its research and prevention, our reach to protecting and preventing those with cancer and making the world one day reach the standards of cancer being a low risk and easily preventable, detectable and curable disease is the goal towards which baby steps are being put forward everyday.

Historically speaking, founded in 1884 the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is the largest and oldest private cancer centre in the world and is one of 52 National Cancer Institute–designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers.

These numbers sound so few among the large number of facilities for other diseases but cancer remains one of the most researched, experimented and worked upon diseases in the recent decades.

All the focus has gone into understanding and comprehending the disease before finding new ways for detections and completely curing with a simple and easily accessible medicine.

Five-year survival for the most common 18 cancers remained highest globally for the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, followed by Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden, according to data through 2014 from CONCORD-3.

The country with the lowest cancer incidence and death rate is India.

Doctors in India focus on early detection because cancer found early is more treatable and less expensive to manage.
