Our Story
Why was TCP started?
As of 2018, there are over 18+ million cancer cases worldwide and a third of the patients had a debt of $10,000 or more.

However, there are very few, if not zero, international cancer NGOs for teenagers. And that is why we started TCP - to create a global impact and utilize adolescent talent, aptitude, and skill to combat this deadly disease.
Gaining over 100 volunteers in a day, TCP has grown exponentially in just a few months. We've launched over 4 initiatives, conducted an event with 90+ attendees, and fundraised over 3,00,000 INR.
Our Founder: Varshini Vijay
“Cancer does not discriminate, so why should we?”
Varshini is a firm believer in diversity, equity & inclusion and aims to represent people from versatile ethnicities, nationalities, genders, orientations, and races via the volunteering system at Teens for Cancer Patients.
She was shocked by the fact that very few if not zero, international cancer NGOs for teenagers existed. She realized, this needed to change. And for her to be part of the solution, to innovate, and to change.
Varshini enjoys interacting with volunteers personally and has extremely well-established interpersonal skills. “When I chat with volunteers, they tell me how much they've developed as a result of their involvement with TCP. No matter where I go, what I do, their smiles matter the most to me” she says. She doesn’t see TCP as simply a hierarchy of officials and volunteers led by the president, but rather as a group of extremely close-knit volunteers that want to make a difference in the world.
